The date & time for the next book club meeting is Friday, June 5th at 8:00pm @ Quill's Coffee. I reserved their meeting room upstairs for us, because they have live jazz going on that night. PLEASE let me know ASAP if you can't do it then, and try to suggest another date/time so I can try to accommodate as many people as possible. The discussion for this month is going to cover Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and a brief discussion of Lara's books. FYI: did you know that even if you often attempt to rationally justify to yourself how not living could possibly be better than living a life full of hopelessness, you are somehow less depressed if you don't believe in an afterlife -therefore making you in NO HURRY to stop existing anytime soon? apparently that's the case, if you didn't know. i suppose i 'get' the urgency to quickly help someone who is seriously suicidal, but ya know...i just hate how level of suicidal thinking is the standard for how depressed a person is. depression can cripple you in so many other profound ways...
oh, and by the way, i'm "moderately depressed" and lexapro is gonna "fix me right up," according to doctor #1.

I blame my parents for my inability to find joy in UofL basketball. I love my friends, and I love watching basketball, so I wish I could...but it's tough. It's all my parent's fault though!!!
...well...a little Rick Pitino's fault...but mostly theirs.
Anyway...this game is INTENSE right now, duuuude. Exciting. The other games are super close too...

I'm really sorry if I was a huge jackass last night. For some reason I just feel like I was, but I love you all very much....so....yeah....
P.S. alcohol is not good. especially for me. which is probably why i want to drink it all the time...self-destructive behavior seems to be my thing lately. but the more i drink the more i hate living. just like...living in general. so...yeah...i love being around my friends though! if i could just do that all the time i think things would be better. :)

you should come camping this weekend!!! we're going to red river gorge, and its gonna be a swell time. i'm not sure WHERE in the gorge we should camp though...there's so many choices! i feel like since we have a decently sized group going that we should pick a spot that's easy to get to, but might be crowded. or we could hike for like 30 minutes and find a secluded spot...what do you guys think?

Why did I not know this happened in Louisville!?! This year the headliner on the 4th is FREAKIN' GEORGE CLINTON from Parliament/Funkadelic fame. OH EM GEE. And Los Lobos is opening for him and his band...I've heard them on WFPK, they're pretty swell too. I know a lot of you will be doing stuff on the 4th with family, but I'm totally going. With this, Waterfront Wednesdays, Bonnaroo, and Radiohead, I'm going to have a pretty swell summer. =) =) =)
